How to Trust
I touched on this subject in a previous article and thought that now maybe a good time to revisit it.
The ability to trust starts with you, the reader, and can be affected by the environments and your life experiences. These can affect your early development and primarily may have a negative bearing on your ability to be self aware. This is the key aspect to trust. Without a healthy level of self awareness you may lack the confidence to trust your abilities to make decisions. It is becoming apparent that there are many varied environments that can cause these confusions and the list is growing; Violent, Oppressive, religious, abandonment events can all hinder a person's early development.
The bottom line is that facing the issues that maybe preventing your growth and allowing you to be happier starts with the individual taking the bull by the horns. One of the ways to achieve this is to put yourself into situations that make you feel anxious because until you can leave your safety zone you will never learn what you are made of.
This doesn't mean that you need to climb the equivalent of mount Everest, if taking a trip down to the shops makes you anxious then just getting to the front gate is a success and the more you have of them the more positive your view of yourself will be. Then you will eventually realise that you can be a very resourceful and confident person and that my friends is the greatest gift there is.
