My 16 year old male long-haired cat seems to be happy and well but over the last few months I have noticed that he is always hungry but is thin, especially around his back end. He does drink a small bowl of water a day but I thought this was normal for elderly cats. His fur is becoming more and more matted. I cut out the lumps but they are difficult to remove as they are close to the skin and he is looking moth-eaten. Also his purr is sounding croaky. Any feedback would be helpful.

They observed a difference concerning the behaviour of the hens. This difference does not concern egg productivity or noise or quarrelling or their eating habits. Whenever I open my windows, swarms of ladybirds suddenly fly out from the edges. Even when they have been cleared out and the windows shut and kept shut, the next time they are opened, more ladybirds are there again? Why? How do I prevent this happening. At the same time, we also have swarms of flies that do exactly the same and I'd really like to know how to stop this happening, as they really are disgusting. Help!
