I am looking at buying a Peugeot 106 p-reg for £800, it has only done 64000 miles and looks in good condition. However, having read the vosa advisory notice it states the brake efficiency is only 53% and the offside front constant velocity joint gaiter deteriorated. That the breaking system requires adjusting or repair. It is a brand new MOT, too. Is it worth buying and is it dangerous?? Thanks for any help.

1999 Chevy Silverado will not start. Checked all the fuses they are good. Checked the fuel pressure it is o.k. There is no fire at the plugs, the motor just turns over but will not start. What will cause the engine not to fire could it be a sensor like the cam or crank sensor?

I am trying to replace a universal joint on my land rover discovery, I have the front wheels on ramps, and the rear wheels securely chocked. However, even with the gearbox in neutral and the handbrake off, I cannot rotate the prop shaft in order to remove the u.j. circlips, what am I doing wrong?

The past two mornings in my 2003 Ford Focus the speedometer, gas gauge, and temp gauge have all gone straight to 0 as soon as the car is started, but then yesterday afternoon it was fine and all was working okay. I took my 2005 Nissan xterra in for servicing because the transmission was making a whining noise at 29000 miles and was diagnosed with burnt out clutch. They stated that in order for them to check the transmission I would have to have to repair the clutch first....Is this true?

I have a 2003 ford explorer sport 4x4. It recently started to make a humming noise(like a jet engine warming up) that increases with acceleration. It is an automatic and shifts effortlessly through the gears while driving. I noticed that while driving at highway speeds if I turned the wheel to the right that the noise subsided but returned upon straightening out the wheel. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

I have a 2001 Saturn that will not start unless the accelerator is all the way to the floor, when it does start the engine idles at 3000 rpm and then slowly idles down to 1100 rpm. When I shift from p to r or drive it sometimes stalls but mostly it idles so hi in drive that I don't have to give it any throttle, and when taking off from a stop if I do try to accelerate it hesitates and usually stalls. Can you please give me a few tips on how I can fix this problem.

Wow, what a site!!! It can be used for everything and anything. I am having problems hooking up my alternator and battery in my 1985 El Camino. The alternator has 2 wires coming out of the top of it and it has a post in the back of it for a wire or 2. That's my problem, I don't know what goes where? Please help me I am very frustrated and going out of my mind with this thing. Happy holidays to all. DG.
