Why does it take like 5-6 mins. to reboot my desktop computer. 2.4 gb.512mb.ram. windows xp. I've removed everything I can from the startup menu in ipconfig.

I am using the Clone feature in Paint Shop Pro where one transmits a feature from picture A to picture B. My problem is how to size the item I am moving from one picture to the other so that it matches in the correct proportions. I would be grateful if someone can help.

I am using XP Home. I have been working over several days making a film with Pinnacle Studio 8. After each session I save it to its appropriate file retrieving it when I wished to continue work on it. I was alarmed when I last accessed it to the time-line to find the audio component was missing. The audio was not visible at all and so could not be heard. I had not deleted anything and had saved my work correctly each time I had finished. Can anyone suggest the reason for this and how I may be able to retrieve the lost sound? Thank You. RAM

Is there any way I can set a formula in row 11 of the same column which will automatically change or count the number of "A" entered as I enter the letter "A" in the balance rowsi.e 5th to 10th row?

When attempting to do so almost all display a message saying that files are missing or are corrupted. A typical message is --'The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again.' All the disks I have tried to install work perfectly in other computers. Can you help please? Thank you.

I am operating Windows XP Home.

On booting up I receive a message--Devices or Applications disabled. 'Direct CD' will cause Windows to become unstable. Windows has prevented these drivers from loading. I am then directed to www.roxio.com/en/jhtml/xpupdate.jhtml?location=update. I am then instructed to uninstall this program

This I find impossible because it does not appear anywhere on my system. Can anyone help, please?

I am operating Windows XP Home.

My hard disk has been wiped and Windows has been reinstalled successfully. However, when trying to install my various programs I get messages saying, in one instance that the CD-Rom drive is not ready and with other disks that they are corrupted and some that cab files are missing. I have cleaned the disk drive with a lens cleaner and thoroughly cleaned the various disks. I have successfully installed these disks on on to another computer to prove that they are not damaged. Could someone help me in resolving this problem? Thank you.

I am operating Windows XP HOme.

Whilst working on some work - pictures, text or whatever - the program freezes causing me to lose anything I am engaged on. This is now happening quite frequently. I then have to shut down and then restart. I have carried out regular maintenance such as defragging, etc but the situation remains. Is there anything else I can do? I am operating XP Home. I uninstalled Nero 6 on my computer to try Nero 7 on a trial basis. At the expiration of the trial period of Nero 7 I uninstalled it from my computer and attempted to reinstall my copy of Nero 6. Each time I have tried I receive a message stating that 'SOME FILES ARE MISSING-PLEASE REINSTALL NERO.' I do so but the result is the same. Please can someone advise me as to what I should do? I am using Windows XP Home.

I recently asked if a solution could be found for removing a picture that appears on my desktop each time I boot. I am in error for not explaining that this is in addition to the normal background. I am operating XP Home and am working with Pinnacle Studio 8 to edit my films. This I have achieved successfully for many times. I have now encountered a problem with my latest film. A message now appearing states CANNOT CREATE DISC WITHOUT PLAYABLE MOVIE CLIPS. AT LEAST ONE MOVIE CLIP MUST BE REFERENCED IN THE PROJECT. I am at a loss to find an answer to resolve this situation. A couple of years ago on Windows XP home edition, I managed to load all of my favorite songs from my Cd's so I could play them from my media player and burn custom Cd's. I've added some more recently but when I went to save all of my music to Cd's again I noticed that the new music takes up "way way" more space than the music I saved before. The old music files, I can save 6 or 7 albums on one Cd. The new music will almost fill 1 Cd. I can't remember how in the heck I did it before to get nice small files. I know I didn't use any third party software. I only used what came on Windows XP home. I tried drag and drop, and copy/paste. They won't play that way. If I rip them through windows media player they work fine but they are too big. The only difference I can see in the two types of files is the bit rate is a lot higher in the new music files. The old files are around 56 kbps. The new ones are in the high 800 to high 1000 kbps. I'm at a loss. Ideas?
