When I start my computer, as soon as the desktop loads I get 2 windows popping up. The first one says :-

Why do these boxes show up at the start? What do they mean and how do I repair the problem if any?

After reformatting my c drive I installed win xp pro with sp3 recently. I use Norton anti virus with the latest definitions & win defender, however my computer freezes more than often & I'm unable to mobilize task manager. As a result I am forced to end the unresponsive programs with the help of the cpu button.

I have run the anti virus, win defender which shows all's clean.comedo firewall is in place. I also used the defrag, despite all these measures win task manager is still unresponsive to ctrl+alt+del.

Please suggest alternative ways to fix this problem.

Dear Sir,

I used window vista. When I open some web pages some part or even the whole page is a window. Sometimes in the window it said click and download plugin then after I click it said but no suitable plugin found.

Another question I used Flash Drive to save file. However, I can find the file name by using Start and find but I cannot delete the file or even change the file name.

I have a second generation Apple Ipod Nano and it will no longer sync with the laptop and get the new music I wish to listen to. I've used it previously on a desktop PC and I've shut that PC down and no longer use it. I thought you could use your Ipod with three PCs. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thank You.

What could be causing my desktop icons and file folders to not be able to be dragged and dropped into a different location? I've right clicked on the desktop and went to Arrange Icons By and made sure Align to Grid was unchecked, and then I right clicked on start, clicked Properties, under Start Menu went to Customize, clicked on Advanced and made sure Enable dragging and dropping was checked and still it doesn't work. I can't hold down the left mouse button and drag any desktop icons or folders.

My LCD monitor has a red line about an 1 1/2 inch from right end of screen from top to bottom. It may be red ink as my young granddaughter was playing a game on computer. I found red pen next to it. Could it be anything else other than ink?

My husband and I smoke. We have companion parrots, so we smoke only in one room, where the birds are not allowed, which has an exhaust fan in the window. Unfortunately, this is the only room that we can house our computer. Would it be possible to put a filter over the vent in the tower to prevent smoke and dust from corrupting our hardware? I know they sell enclosures, but it seems to me that all your Paying for, (and they're not cheap) is a box with a filter on it. thank you

Everytime I am online and I have an extra window open, when I go to close that extra window it closes out my whole internet. How do I fix this? I have ran a scan disk, disk defragment and it still isn't working. I am currently using Windows XP and Internet explorer 7 I believe? HELPPPPPPPP!

I am using XP Home. I have successfully burned a DVD disk of 3.42 GB capacity on to a 4.7 GB disk. I now wish to copy this on to another 4.7 GB diskvia Nero. Each time I go to Copy Disk it tells me that there is not enough space to copy this. I cannot understand the logic. Please can someone explain what I should do? Thank you .

I get broadband from Virgin, when I move with my laptop and get reconnected with Virgin will all my favourites be saved, or will I have to reset it again? I'm using mcafeevirus scan 8.5.0 on Windows XP pro sp2. Whenever I auto update I get a msg failed to initialise common updater subsystem, make sure mcafee subsystem is running.Mcafee common framework returned error fffff95b@2.

On googling I learnt that frameworkmanifest. XML is corrupt so I followed the instructions to reboot, delete frameworkmanifest.XML, however I'm not being able to install common management agent.. Is there any other solution to this problem, however I'm being able to manually update the latest from the mcafee site?

How do you reckon is the avg antivirus free version? are bank transactions safe with avg?
