My question is about the law on auto contract default, I live in Georgia . It was about five years ago when I bought a jeep and let it go back, and this past Friday. I was served papers to appear in court - they're trying to garnish my wages. Now I know I signed a contract on the amount but I was in credit wise bad shape so I went to a buy here pay here type place and purchased a 95 grand Cherokee for 21,000 and this was maybe 2002, 2003 I payed on the jeep for several months not to mention my down payment, well when I took it back they auctioned it off for who knows how much. I just feel they have made their money and I can't afford to pay the 12,000 they say I owe and sure don't need my check garnished, is there a way out of this?

Hi, I am unable to post for some reason maybe because I am new. Hopefully you will have some input. Thanks............... Hi, any advice appreciated. We have a convection wall oven that has gone through several thermastats. The main reason found was the back corner liner had fallen since it had not been welded properly. The oven is 7 years old but we paid 2500 for it and don't use it daily. Kitchenaid admitted it is a manufactured error. Kitchenaid said they would replace for $1000 then $750 but we didn't feel we should have to pay anything. I told him $750 better then the other and he said he would check into shipping time which he thought would be four weeks. I said I would talk to my husband and see what he wants. In the meantime they had told me to not use it since it is a fire hazzard. We were still unsure what to do and if we even wanted to put another Kitchenaid in since they appear to have a problem with the self clean design on all the repair forums. Monday we got a call from a local appliance store that they had an oven in for us and we didn't owe anything. I double checked. My husband went picked it up and installed it. Now Kitchenaid is calling saying they need our credit card number to pay for the oven and the appliance store who just was used as a shipping venue called and said Kitchenaid wants them to pick it up/ Question do we have any legal obligations to Kitchenaid? I never said yes do it he was going to check on time it would take to order one and I needed to speak with my husband. Nothing was signed. Part of me is so tired of paying all this money for appliances that are junk and I wonder how it feels for them to have to eat it. Of course $750 is not much for a multibillion dollar company. I feel perhaps ethically we should pay something but am not sure legally. It took me many hours of tracking to even get to corporate offices to have any type of help. Does anyone know if we are legally responsible the conversation was in customer service at corporate. There are many different chains. Thanks for any feedback

I live in NC and am behind 2 months on my car payments. The dealership says they are repossessing my car and have ordered me to return it. They lied to me to begin with when I asked them if they were going to want more than my original $1000 down payment, and their answer was no. Then they came back to me ordering me to pay another $1200 in order to have the bank finance my car. I was a single Mother who never received child support, and had no one to turn to to take me to look for another car. The dealership told me to take back the used car I had purchased, telling me they could swing this deal needing only my $1000 as a down payment. To make a long story short, I would never have done the deal knowing they were going to come back asking for more. I gave them another $600 which put me behind on my payments. And I do not want to lose my only transportation. Do I have rights concerning this to keep my car? And my biggest concern is in NC can I be arrested for failure to return the car that is being ordered back from me to the dealership? The value of my car at this time is around $14500.

Problem: Small town dwellers have only option to receive mail through a PO Box from the Postal Service. Since 911, Homeland Security has required a physical address when a package is sent through the mails. UPS refuses to deliver mail through the PO Box if it is addressed to the physical location. (Even though the small town postmaster knows everybody. Attempt to solve: Explained problem in letter to post office explaining conflict in regulations between Homeland Security and them, and asked to make allowance for physical address listed. Response: Post Office said that contact with Homeland Security personnel revealed that no such physical address requirement existed. Question: Have Internet purchasers been hogwashed into believing that physical address is required for Homeland Security purposes, or does a regulation exist stating that physical address is required?
