I have been separated for over 5 years with no contact with my husband in this time. We married in England, I am Scottish but currently live in NZ. How do I go about getting a divorce? I have no physical address for him and am not even sure if he still lives in the same town. I will be in Scotland for 1 month later this year.

My husband had a motorbike accident whilst we were married. He was out of work and I ran up debts on my credit to feed and clothe our children at his request, saying when he got his payout he would pay off the debts. We are now divorced and he has received a very large pay out. He has told me his money has been tied up by his Solicitor. We have been divorced for over 4 yours. Am I legally entitled to any of the compensation money?

My husband and I am divorcing due to him committing adultery. I am buying him out of the family home but his mother's house is jointly owned by my husband and his brother. His mother still lives there (as is part of the condition). Am I entitled to any part of this property? There is no mortgage and neither me, my husband or his brother have paid towards the property?

I divorced my husband in 1993 and settled for a share in the house only (60,000 pounds approximately. He declared through his solicitor the assets of his pension and as they appeared to be relatively small I did not pursue anything from there> I now have come across evidence that he was not truthful in his declaration through the solicitors. Do I have any recourse or is there a statute of limitations in place? I am sure that he was asked to swear that his answers and declarations were the truth.

I have been married for 6 years, there are no children. We have a net worth of cira £0.5m. We earn equal amounts. We live on a farm which contributes most of the net worth. I want us to separate/divorce and want my half. She does not want to sell the farm. She cannot afford to buy me out. What can I do? (we have just fallen out of love, there are no others involved).

I had to leave the marital home, because of something my husband had done, I had to move to a pretty bad area as this was the cheapest rent I could find. I do not qualify for legal aid, so does this mean I lose everthing including the house that my husband is still living in?

My husband who has worked and lived abroad for approximately 2 and half years has not been giving me money since beginning of October 2006 and before that it was always sporadically and I would always have to beg and nag for it. I have had enough of this situation and am currently considering divorce. I just wanted to know where I stood with rights to our house that is in joint names. I have a 5 year old and another currently on the way in May. I work part-time and could manage the mortgage on my own. Would I have to buy my husband out of the house still if I forfeited any maintenance from him for children as I seriously dont think I would get anything as I am not getting anything from him now.

My wife and I have recently separated. She is living in the house we jointly own, while I am in a house with my job. She now wants to take on full payment of insurance, mortgage, etc (currently shared) on our house, until we ultimately sell it. Will this prejudice my joint ownership and responsibility, and ultimate share of the proceeds when we sell?

I have a query and hope that you can assist me.

I am a British citizen that got married to a guy from India in March of this year. He is now in this country however our marriage has not worked out & I am now in the process of getting my marriage annulled. This should be completed by December.

He is now requesting to stay here in this country for 2 years which is when his visa will expire however I am not happy about this at all as I do not feel he should be allowed to remain here. His visa that was granted in India is that of a spouse visa with my name & address on it but as we will no longer be legally married, what can be done about this? Can the visa be removed from his passport & in some way have him leave the UK & return to his home back in India?

I would be very grateful on any advise that you can give me in this matter.

Hi

I am a divorced father of two girls aged 6 and 5. I would like to take my daughters to two up-coming family events. My ex-wife is saying I cannot take them to either. Both are in the UK and would require a one night overnight stay on a Saturday/Sunday.

I see my children every week without fail, have never missed a maintenance payment and contributed a great deal since the break-up 3 years ago. My wife last year took the children to Greece for two weeks without me. This is unfair, can I obtain a court order to taker them to the two family events? Please advise.

Regards

Paul B
