Facts
The notion that spinach contains extraordinary amounts of iron and therefore promotes strength is based on a mistake. This idea was made popular by Popeye the cartoon character, however it's all based on a mistake. The misconception arose in 1870 when a misplaced decimal point in a set of published food tables made spinach appear to contain 10 times as much iron as other vegetables. In fact, it has no unusual amount. Furthermore iron does not seem especially valuable for building muscles, although it is an essential ingredient for red blood cells and thus increases a person's resistance to disease and infection.

I buy beetroot in the market each friday and cook it in a pressure cooker for 40 minutes. When cooked I store it in the fridge until Im ready to eat it, is this the right way to store cooked beetroot? It might be in the fridge for 2-3 days before I eat them, but sometimes they don't taste right. Is this because they are stored in the fridge? Thanks Sammy.
