Mrs Puwundeep (Pru) Virk
Hello I need some advice. Me and my husband have been trying to get pregnant for over a year and half and then we got pregnant I was so happy, but then had a missed miscar in March I was 6 weeks. After that I got my period on 21st April 2008 but not had one since then and it is now 23rd June. Me and my husband have both had check up and we are both fine. I had a blood test the other day and they came back negative. I went to the doctors today and they told me to just wait until my period comes I asked how long I should wait and they said 4-6 months, but isnt that a long time to wait? Can i be preg or not. Can you please please help me.

hi, my best mate is diabetic (type 2) and she is trying for a baby now she is a 18 day cycle and she was due to ovulate on the 9th of April, now she had sex on the 6,7 and 9th of April. What are her chances of pregnancy as she is on no birth control and I am worried. I dont know what to do to help if she is as surely this would affect her diabetes? thank you, she is 23 years of age.

Were mistakes ever made in recording battalions of dead soldiers in WW1? I have traced my grandfather's war death certificate, he is listed as in Bat 1 but his service (where he was stationed) before the war shows that he was in Bat 2. As bat 2 RSF ended up in Ypres in October 1914 with Bat 1, could he have been transferred in to bat 1 then?

Worp stated "Family history should always start with gathering in the greatest detail all possible family information from relatives, especially those with the longest/oldest (and therefore most vulnerable) memories". Is there a printable list available of such questions to ask relatives?

I am trying to find my father Eugene Hyle who the last I know from my mum lives in county Mayo, West Ireland. He used to run a bed and breakfast there with his wife Patricia and I know he also has 3-4 other children who I would like to meet as they are my half brothers and sisters. I cannot find a way to do this that does not cost any money so if anybody out there can point me in the right direction I would be truly grateful?

I have been trying to conceive a baby for almost 3 months, and every time I take a pregnancy test it comes up negative. I have heard that if the sperm runs out of you then your partner cannot produce babies. Is that true?

Miss g b
Can you help with personalised advice for finding Irish ancestors? I have two Irish branches, and haven't been able to trace either. My great great grandmother Alice Norton/ Naughton was from County Mayo, born c 1842 (a Catholic). By 1861 she had moved to Yorkshire, where she married in 1864. I would like to trace her birth and her ancestors if possible, but have had no luck so far. Even more hard to trace is my great grandmother. She was an Irish orphan, given the name Nellie Smith - she didn't know what her actual name was (although Nellie may have been her birth name). She was born c 1884, and sent into servitude in London by 1901. I don't know what county of Ireland she was from (although I believe it was southern Ireland); where she was in an orphanage; what ship she came over on etc. I would be thrilled with any advice you can give me that would help me. Thanks

If anyone is stuck for a particular generation of ancestors who would have been alive with young children in the half-century up to 1900, in England, I may be able to identify them given sufficient information. (But let's limit this offer to two or three responders). What I would need is the full name of an antecedent whose parentage you wish to identify. I also would need to know his/her place of settlement at a known date, or better still, actual birthplace and birthdate, or approx birthdate, of this individual, and even better still, BOTH locations and dates. The name of (the later) spouse (and birthplace of spouse, etc. if possible) plus occupation, etc. would also help to narrow it down. Any other information about the individual, his/her siblings, and/or that individuals otherwise unknown parents, could make confident identification easier. No guarantees of course. Records are incomplete and error-ridden and one sometimes has to try to identify the target individual from among several (or many) who fit the general criteria. If you prefer a private response just email me. Worp

PLEASE NOTE - ANYONE INTERESTED IN POSING QUESTIONS ON HOW TO TRACE ANCESTRY SHOULD MAKE IT CLEAR WHERE THE SUBJECT ANCESTOR WAS KNOWN TO HAVE BEEN BORN/LIVED/MARRIED/DIED. Techniques and sources for the pursuit of family history where ancestors are (say) Latvian will be vastly different than that for Albertan, Maori or English ancestors. Family history should always start with gathering in the greatest detail all possible family information from relatives, especially those with the longest/oldest (and therefore most vulnerable) memories. If a record entry for a person of the right name is found in the right place at the right time it still may not be him/her unless you can corroborate it with some clincher (for instance, a fellow who was a coach-builder, or a woman whose sisters were: Tryphena, Eliza and Brilliana). You could start your genealogical quest by checking the forum for your family name to see if anyone else is researching the same family - go here: http://genforum.genealogy.com/ Worp
