CRIME IN BRITAIN IS OUT OF CONTROL! Every time we switch on our TV or pick up a newspaper, we hear endless reports about murders, rapes, burglaries, car thefts and muggings. Britain used to be a peaceful country where crime was rare, where old ladies and children could walk the streets at night without fear of mugging, rape or worse. People could leave their doors unlocked without fear of burglary. WHATEVER HAPPENED?

Mr Warren Ingalls
President Bush said "God speaks through me," he said. Intelligencer Journal and the Lancaster New Era, on July 16, 2004.) Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas reported immediately after meeting with Bush that Bush said: "God told me to strike at al Qaida and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East. If you help me I will act, and if not, the elections will come and I will have to focus on them." Should I feel better that God is talking to George Bush directly or should I be bothered by this? Do all presidents have dialog with God and receive direction on matters of war? Did Johnson enter into Vietnam without proper instruction from God?

On the radio today was a debate and a poll on whether there should be a partial ban of smoking in public places or a complete ban (in the UK) Surely having a complete ban would take away someones rights. Also while I'm on the subject I've heard also that if your a non-smoker you get preferential treatment in some hospitals/dentists etc over the people that do smoke- surely if it was not for people smoking the hospitals would be worse off because the tax on a packet of cigarettes is sky high. The contribution from the tax on cigarettes purchased would surely far out weigh the cost of treating patients with smoking related illnesses. Am I right in thinking this? Whats your view?

I am a smoker and am planning on cutting down soon (have been for years just not never got round to it!) My question is to other smokers. How do you feel about the banning of smoking in public places such has pubs clubs etc. This has already been done in Ireland and I have heard that some pubs have suffered a lot of trade because of this. My own view on this is that even though I enjoy a drink I don't think that I would mind going outside for a smoke if it come to it. After all, all the smokers would be in the same boat and it might even make me cut down a little. I am interested to know what other smokers think to a ban of smoking in public places.
