My son will be 1 year next week. And his father has not contributed but $35 and brought him 4 outfits since he has been born. Currently I am living in NY and he is in NC. He has asked for a DNA test. His name is not on the birth certificate. Now should I just tell him that he is not his (even though he is) and leave it like that. Or should i get him the test and then put him on child support? He is also currently not working. And he is married.

Mrs Ranjani Rao
I want a legal advise on my married issue. It was a so called love marriage i.e without any interest from my side, he forced me to accept his love & thus got married without his parents knowledge in a Hindu temple in May 2004. Only few from my side knew about the marriage. Soon after his parents knew about this , they forced him to get married to his maternal's uncles daughter. Thus he agreed & married again in the same year in August 2004 without my knowledge under certain circumstances. All these years he did not disclose this to me since we were staying away in some other city. When we met his parents on some occasion after 4 years of our marriage they told me everything about his second marriage & told us to stay with them in their house. Now they are telling that I should accept his second wife also & live together in the same house. I don't want all these complications since he is not a good person, because right from the beginning he has manhandled me & my mother & abused very badly & made my life hell. I want to break his relationship . They are not ready to leave me & threatening that mine is not a legal & official marriage & even they have taken in writing forcible from me that I am just staying in their house as a friend & they is no relation between me and him. Please guide me how to go ahead in this matter.

I am Amit. I am in love with a girl, we want to mary each other. Our parents are against this relation due to a number of reasons like intercast etc. We try our best to persuade them but to no use. Now the girls parents have taken her to some unknown place 1 month before. They have kept her in their custody. We want to marry against her wishes. I got a message from unknown number telling me to wait for her. They are so furious against this relation that they said they will prefer to kill her than to marry me. Now the question is - Whether I have any right to receive her from her parents custody legally on the base of her wishes to be with me? If yes than how? I am an engineer in a GOVT. of India enterprise? Can taking any legal action harm me? Hoping for your advice at the earliest. Amit T

Me got closer and closer to the car in front of him not letting him in. Well the car in the merge lane cut the car in front of me off. When he did that the car in front of me screeched to a stop and his back end fishtailed to the left merge lane. That was where I also went to avoid the whole thing (the left merge lane) and I ended-up hitting his car. I go a lawyer and he told me to go to the chiropractor. Well, the boy lied and said he was at a full stop when I hit him. I even had a witness that saw it all its on the police report. My lawyer mails me a letter saying he can no long represent me. I'm stuck with a chiropractor bill and hospital bills for my kids which were injured in the accident also, one was 2 months old at the time, AND NO LAWYER. What now?

A Company filed a false Criminal case against an employee (who had resigned) for alleged fraudulent misappropriation of funds. The case was filed in Kolkata in 1992 and in 2008 is nowhere near completion. For the last two years the Complainant has been asking for adjournments as they know the case is false. During the previous hearing the Honorable Judge has stated that the Complainant must be present on the next hearing date. While the Honorable Judge was absent today (date of hearing) the Complainant again filed a petition for adjournment. Please advise how this case can be brought to a logical conclusion in which I am the accused? I am 62 years old and want this case to be completed during my lifetime. I live in Ind. In Dec of 06 a friend of mine had to get a car, as hers had quit. She lived in Ill. at the time so she did not know the area and I took her to a dealership that she had communicated with online. They insisted I had to sign the papers also because she was not a legal resident of Ind. I ask did it matter which of us signed them first and the salesperson said no as my friend was the primary buyer of the car. A few months latter when a statement came with my name on it I called and ask about it. And was told it was nothing to worry about, because my name was only on it because of the residential requirements. In about March I got a copy of my credit report and it showed me being the co-signer. But when I talked to the financial place they said the papers they had showed me being the primary buyer. Is there anything I can about this? My friend has since lost her job in Ill. and moved here. And she has fallen behind in the payments. I am on disability and do not have the means to help her. Am I going to be held liable for this stupid car. Please answer my questions. I need to know if there is anything legally I can do. I also filed a complaint with the BBB on this dealership. My partner is currently getting divorced and at the beginning this was amicable. When the family home was sold his wife was given a lump sum and a figure of £300 per month maintenance had been agreed. The divorce papers have been signed and it is only a matter of weeks before it is finalised. His ex-wife has steadily worked her way through the £20,000 pay out and is now threatening to go after my partners business and the house he bought after they separated and sold the marital home. Can she do this? many thanks, Jennifer

My brother went missing six months ago, and there are no clues as to his whereabouts or whether he is still alive. A few years ago my brother helped my son finance a car; brother signed as Buyer, son signed as Co-Buyer. Now my son has moved to New Jersey from Texas and needs to have his car inspected in order to get new tags in NJ. However, NJ won't let him get the car inspected without a NJ registration. Alas, my son cannot register the car in New Jersey without the signature of my missing brother. My son had Chrysler (the financer) send the title to the local MCV, but they wouldn't transfer it without my missing brother's signature. Texas may not let him register the car, either, without proof of Texas residence. As far as we know, no one has power of attorney to sign for my brother. The car still has about 18 months of payments to be made before it is paid for outright. The New Jersey Department of Vehicle Registration doesn't seem to want to deal with it; it's just too irregular for them, so they are just brushing it off.

I was married for 26 years. My husband left me, and 4 years later (procrastination) our divorce was finalized out of court. He remarried immediately, and then died a month later. In our divorce agreement, he was entitled to all of his own retirement through the company he worked for for 13 years, plus the few financial assets that we had, and I got our house, which our 18 and 20 year old kids were still living in. Do I have any legal recourse to obtain any of his retirement? I was married to him during all of those 13 years. His 1-month widow got his life insurance, and since they had a 3 year old, she and the child receive social security benefits. She also went after a wrongful death claim with workmen's comp. as he died at work, and they both get benefits from that. She lied to my daughter, and got her to make copies of my kids' birth certificates, so she could prove that they were too old to receive any benefits. She makes more money sitting at home with her kids, than I do working full time. She quickly found herself another man, and they have a child together. They had a marriage ceremony, but I don't think it was legal. Many friends have told me to check it out, so 7 years later I've decided to do that. At 58, I don't know if I'll ever be able to afford to retire, with all of the bills that I have. I have no idea how much I'll receive from his social security benefits. I've written to them, but they will not give me an amount. Thank you for your help.

My cruel husband has sent me an advocate letter in which he claims that he is not my child's father. At the same time he is threatening me that 'I will show u? This is my child, he never stay with you. Live with him for only some days, etc........." I am sure he will claim custody of my child. First of all he wants me to prove that he is my child's father, then he will prove I am of poor character and financially insecure. Then he will claim custody of my child. Can anybody tell me is there anyway which he could never claim custody of my child? If he claims the same is it accepted by law? My husband is financially very strong, divorced and handicapped (short of hearing) and not very educated. He only passed the 8th form of English middle school. I am a commerce graduate, a working woman but financially not very strong. Please advise!
