The big hole Did you know the largest excavation ever dug was the work of diamond miners wielding picks and shovels? - known as the Big Hole at Kimberley, in South Africa. In the course of 44 years, from 1871 until the mine closed in 1915, they removed about 25 million tonnes of clay and rock and 14.5 million carats (about 3 tonnes) of diamonds. The great mine is now an open air museum.

After my mom passed, my brother was appointed as a Personal Representative of the estate. My brother set aside sum funds from my mother's account supposedly to maintained for the house but at no time he did he pay for any repairs works and/or other minor works for the said house. He was harassing me to pay the property tax and house insurances just because I was residing in my mother's house. I was the one who had/has been paying for the house maintenances, bills, repair works and etc for the house. Since my brother is the Personal Representative and had set aside some money from my mother's account so told him to pay the property tax and insurances. Now our relationship with each other is sour and he wants to buy over my half share and also wants to offset rental from me for staying in my mother's place after her death. Do I have to pay my brother rent since I am one of the beneficiary of the estate?

Where can I get information on my great uncle Thomas McNeill Able-Seaman D/JX 134571 , who died on HMS Courageous on 17/09/39. I know he also sailed On HMS Devonshire and was in Hong Kong for 2 years. I would love to find a picture of him or his service records to see if was awarded any medals and to see a picture of him.

Thanks

MILTARY HISTORY QUESTION: WW1 french medals to British soldiers: How can I find why my grandfather was awarded the Médaille d'honneur des affaires étrangères in WW1 (bronze avec glaves)?

There is no record on his medal card at the Kew Nat Archives and I can't find his service record at the archives either. The Gazette simply lists his name so no clues there.

Do the French have records and if so how can I access them?

If unlikely to be able to access above info, can you tell me the type of circumstances in which the French awarded this type of medal?

He was a Corporal at the time, in the Royal Artillery. I understand this award was reasonably rare - is that true? I have the certificate of award.

Thank you very much.

Is there a website or/so, where I can get statistics of Istanbul.

About the Taboo's like traditions of arranged marriage. I'm trying to set up a site that shows all these sick things that still happen here. Like marital rape that still is not considered to be a crime.

And all the girls that are getting raped but the families say the girl just to live with it, and don't tell anyone. Or else the girl could not marry a man because she isn't "pure" anymore.
