There is this friend of mine, she was a confident girl but now she is not confident at all. She thinks she cannot do anything. Starts crying on small issues, always wants her sister to be there, she has confidence in her only, doesn't trust anyone else and also thinks that she might get some disorder and will be sent to asylum. There was one cosine of hers who actually had some psychological problem though that cousin is OK now. Could you please help?

Scenario:

You are sitting at a bar, a bar you usually feel comfortable in, you order your drinks and all of a sudden you start to feel a little uneasy, you then realize there is a guy near by who has obviously had too much to drink and is staring at your girlfriend with a look in his eye that tells you he is a trouble maker and it won't be too long before he starts. What is the best course of action for you to take as you really don’t want a confrontation with a guy like this? Is there a text book way for dealing with awkward situations such as this?

Miss dani butt
hi guys, I've asked a question before, along the same lines to this question-hope thats not a problem and I'm not taking advantage?

I'm hoping to do a double-blind experiment. My hypothesis, roughly, is that any aromatherapy effect is due to nothing more than the pleasantness of the smell. I aim to have3 groups: (a) experimental with ylang ylang (an essential oil claimed to have anxiety-reducing effects) (b) control with odourless spray, and (c) control with another odour with the same perceived pleasantness as ylang ylang, but without any supposed aromatherapy effects.

Basically I am trying to test anxiety pre and post the administration of the odors. I am considering using the STATE component of the State-Trait anxiety inventory, to test anxiety levels before and after. I also want to consider using some kind of cognitive tests (eg digit span test) to see indirectly whether lower anxiety increases performance after the administration of the odor. I'm bit confused though... just want advice on the way I should test for anxiety, I definitely want to use the STAI questionnaire, what else can I administer to my participants?

Like I said, I asked something before and I got great response from some experts who I am so thankful to still, really was great.

Anyways take care all, hope somebody can help.xx

hey guys-great if you could help-I'm stuck in a rut, I want to carry out an experiment testing the placebo effect in aromatherapy- eg whether telling someone that lavender will relax them, happens because of a physiological effect or due to the fact they want this to happen and expect it to. I am just having problems with the DESIGN of this study. If I'm testing the placebo effect should I just use something like water in ALL the

conditions, with the participants believing its lavender, or should I test their performance with a second group who have actually inhaled lavender.

Can someone help!!???? please

I know very well how to get motivated. BUT I HAVE PROBLEM WITH STAYING MOTIVATED. I have problem in staying motivated and not straying away into distractions and temptations.

One may say that if you are motivated enough how can distractions and temptations even come near you - They actually don't, but over a period of time persistent desires and temptations get the better of me and stray me away from my goal which I was earlier so motivated to achieve.

So I need help on how to CONSISTENTLY keep me pursuing my goal and not stray away into some attractive thing like a child does when he sees something fancy and new.

I came across a Psychologist who just asks you to draw on a blank sheet of paper a drawing of a Person.

What she then does is that LOOKS AT THE DRAWING AND TELLS YOU IN PRECISE DETAIL A LOT ABOUT YOUR PERSONALITY. And I just cant say that what she replies is wrong in anyway.

I want to know, how is it that a person can just look at a drawing of a PERSON and tell you so much about your personality.

To who ever can assist.

Without going into great detail of the history of my long and tiresome 7 years of harassment and stalking I WOULD LIKE SOME ASSISTANCE.

I have been in this room and reading for some time and have noticed some highly intellectual people.

Although I was not part of an occult (a group of people who I was able to assist my daughter out of) with professional support in the back ground, I have seemed to wear the brunt of such matters.

I, in my journey have met people who I did not know were connected, along the way I began to recognise that there were similar patterns within each contact.

My problem is.

during contact with each individual the communication has left me (blank). In the combatting cult mind control it explains somewhere that the sentences are confusing like double dutch. The mind (mine is then confused. My memory is then shot).

This is interfering with my physiological development; I am to study soon but unable to retain information for me to learn. This then interferes with my job.

I need assistance with this, does anyone know Internet sites, books, or any other information so I can undo or move in the right direction in order to study (memory and confusion)?
