Where do you put the oil into a Suffolk Colt motor mower? I can see from checking the dip stick that it needs oil, but I cannot see where to put it in. Also - what oil do you use? I am in the middle of cutting my grass and the engine has got very hot and it has stopped. Local mower man swamped with work so I am trying to sort the situation myself - many thanks if you can advise

Just bought a new house and moved in yesterday. First night in the property, it has rained and the roof is leaking, after inspecting behind the curtain it is clear that this is not a new development as the wallpaper is black, the rest of the room is cream. It is obvious that the previous owners must have been aware. Where do I stand legally on this?

I have a leak under my kitchen sink. It's coming from one of the nuts on the trap, the one nearest the sink itself. The water is seeping out of the top of the nut. I can't see any cracks or anything. I'm wondering if it's due to a blocked sink, as when I have my washing machine on, some of the water comes up out of the plug hole. Thanks for any advice!

The water has stopped flowing into our water/ice maker in our refrigerator. We have checked all the connections and it appears that the problem is in the wall. It's a blocked cold water feed to the ice maker in the wall. Is there a way to unclog this without knocking a hole in the wall?

I am getting reverse flow into my CH header tank. A new 3 port valve was recently fitted which I have now reversed to see if it would make any difference. (No, it hasn't) The system is a pump system, non of the rads have been closed, altered, changed etc. The water in the header tank is warm which does indicate reverse flow. If the system is unbalanced how do I connect it? Incidentally, two of the four rads downstairs take a lot longer than any other to heat up. Any ideas?

I am a home owner in Newfoundland Canada, My heat source is oil fired forced air. The furnace was installed in 1985 and it has a 1/4 HP blower. My brother just bought a house in Ontario Canada and was told that he should run the blower all the time as this would keep the home heated evenly and the furnace would fire less, this would save money for him. Is this a good idea?

Soldering half-inch copper: sometimes good results, sometimes terrible. I know that the work area must be dry inside, to get enough heat to the joint. I guess the water draws the heat. I've tried everything I can think of to drain the pipes (through the lowest point, the hot water tank) and vent them (through the various faucets) after closing the main shutoff, which even has a new washer. I'm using an ordinary propane torch. Stuffing the pipe with bread has not been effective, and the glycerine footballs they sell are ridiculously expensive for something used only once, though they seem like they might work. I'm renovating our new house, we're moving in in two weeks, and I'm in a jam. Help!

The toilet is a one piece and I can't get to the bottom of the seat by any means, there are no holes, I tried from the water well, the back and under where the curve of the water line is on the bowl where there was a small opening but there is now way to get to the bottom of the plastic brackets. The toilet seat is held by two square brackets with a square nut inside of them, The seat is loose and it slides sideways on the brackets but I can't tighten the seat. It is inaccessible. Any one know how to change this kind of Toilet seat?
