I have just taken my first contraceptive pill and it was on the fifth day of my period, does this mean that I am protected straight away ?

My girlfriend and I are 17 and she is afraid of getting pregnant. We have had sex many times and nothing has ever gone wrong. We use Durex extra safe condoms which is supposed to be the best money can buy. I have reassured her many times that nothing will go wrong as long as we are extra careful and I have said that if anything did go wrong that I would be there for her and stand by her no matter what. Which is what I intend to do. I have explained that it's probably just as likely of me dying of sudden heart failure or more likely that I will get hit by a bus than her getting pregnant. I have shown her the Durex site where it explains the procedures in which the condoms undergo so that they know each of them work. I have done extensive research and have brought her facts and figures to show her. But she still gets scared. What more can I do to reassure her? I will never leave her if she doesn't want to have sex with me but I can't help but feel disappointed. Honestly, I just really enjoy having sex with her and I feel like every time we do it I feel even closer to her like I want to be with her forever. I will miss that feeling and the satisfaction and enjoyment we both get.

My wife last had a period 29th March 08...she hasn't had a period since. She had spotting 20th April (so light its impossible to be a period..we both agree)...however pregnancy tests are showing negative. She has started to urinate more recently, but not sure if this is a sign or not as we both have given up alcohol and are drinking much more squash!! She has also had a metallic taste in her mouth on and off....has had it today. She has had tender breasts which I understand could be a sign of pregnancy or a period coming...but no period came. She is now 22 days late and no sign of period but all tests clearly show negative...whats the chances they are wrong?

I had PROTECTED sex 2 months ago. Since I have had normal periods ever since. I have also take two negative pregnancy tests. Do you think it is likely that I am pregnant?

I recently did a pregnancy test, and I am unsure about the result it looks like a + but the line that goes down looks fainter than the line going across. I have done one before and the line down wasnt visible at all. Is this a positive result or not ? raychellnaylor1@hotmail.co.uk
