About 20 years ago, I was walking with a couple of friends up the street, we was just minding our own business until I noticed some bright flashing lights over the top of the houses to our right (similar to a strobe light) We commented to each other how strange this was but didn't take to much notice as there was a main road at the top of the street, we thought it might be car head lights as it was night time, when we reached the end of the street and to our right we could see three red glowing cigar shapes a good distance away in the night sky, They was upright (vertical) and appeared to be floating down from side to side like a leaf would on a still day. We all watched this for about a minute before they disappeared in to the horizon. What are the possible explanations for what we saw, and I am interested to know if there has been any similar sightings? I must add we all saw the same thing, and none of us had been drinking or had taken any drugs.
