On my 1991 mobile home, I have two areas that need what I believe to be extensive work, one below a window, that allow water to leak in and another area, behind the front door (it had been replaced) that the wood has become rotted. How should I proceed? Should I hire a pro or can a resourceful, strong willed, rather intelligent girl do it herself? I am not afraid of hard work just afraid of doing more damage than I already am faced with. Thanks

Whats the best method for stripping painted wall paper stuck directly on plasterboard. I have tried a steamer but its a very slow job and it scuffs up the paper on the plasterboard. Any ideas?

I want to take the wallpaper of so I can plaster.

Thanks Coming On Thru for your answer. Could you please tell me a little bit more about the paper tape you use and why you have to soak it when repairing walls?

I am familiar with the scrim (bandage type tape used for going over joints when plastering) is it similar to this? Cheers

If you strip wallpaper of a wall that was originally painted taking of some of the paint work back to bear plaster in places, what is the best filler to use and best method for making good these patches? The problem with these patches that they are only a fraction of a mill deep but would be noticeable if left when the wall is repainted.
