I am an Artist, living in a remote area of Maine, where it is difficult to sell my work, as the area is poor, and not yet a strong tourist destination. My website, which is a year old, has not provided me with many orders, and I am frustrated with it. I have someone doing keyword "tweaking" once a month, and some link exchanges, but don't know if I am just being too impatient. I am told that my work is very unique, but I don't have the budget for advertising, and know only enough about computers, to manage my emails, etc. What are some low, or no cost things that I might try, to increase visibility. Google adwords, seems like something that could be costly, if you don't know what you are doing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have a lot of faith in what I do, but am languishing in the wilderness here!

It is 8 months old, and I have done links, meta tag and description updates and listings on things like d-moz etc. to try and increase traffic to my site, but I have received no business on it yet, any suggestions?

Hi - I have a problem. In 2000,  my son listed his site with Yahoo and paid a fee of $299.00.  At that time, Yahoo did not say that he would ever need to pay again. He didn't pay for an exact position (1 or whatever), he just paid the 299.00 for an upgraded listing. For the past 4 years, he has been paying $600.00 to be included in the listings. His site is now lost in space. How can we email Yahoo and get them to re-rank or reposition his site?
