Indesit IDL 530 dishwasher will not start. I have turned it off and on, checked water and electric supply - end light shows but start button just beeps on each programme??

I am not familiar with that "particular" model. However, the most common cause of a dishwasher malfunction is the buildup of soap residue from the steam collecting on either the cycle mechanism, or the electronics. The cycle mechanism is unfortunately usually located bottom/front behind a panel and has plastic gears side by side on a metal shaft that work together like a watch to activate each cycle, (wash, rinse, dry etc..)
